For the past several days it has been raining... and raining, and raining. Not always very hard, but enough to make our farm feel flooded. But, despite the water and our rain soaked conditions, baby animals are starting to appear!

     Alice and I's summer job official began when we received a batch of 560 chicks from a hatchery. Just like the past few years, we will be raising them to sell as broiler chickens 






     Thus far, we have three little lambs in the barn with more to come. The ones below are already growing fast and don't look much like babies anymore!





     After waiting for many a day, weeks actually, we found our long awaited surprise in the barn last night! Our sweet cow Ruby, whom we raised as a bottle calf, has had her second calf. A strong, healthy little girl we've named Onyx. :)
