Teagan turned seven!  He loves to play with Legos so naturally he asked for a Lego cake. Well actually Lego brownies. Like most farm birthdays after presents from mom and dad, it was time for chores! We had breakfast at the cafe in Osnabrock then played at the park. Teagan also loves to have fires and toast marshmallows. So...we did! We had a very fun day.

This is Samson. He is our large black heritage hog that we will be using for breeding. He is dad's favorite. But then, he is really hard not to love. Large blacks are bred to be calm and friendly. I think that Samson's weak spot is scratching his belly. He flops right over on his side for that! Also because he is a heritage hog, he should be pretty hardy to our North Dakota winters.
Sometime this fall he will be getting a lady. Yes, we were considering naming her Delilah but everyone said, "she was bad!". So I thinks its going to be Deliah.

This morning we had a interesting dilemma at milking time. We went to go get Molly but her pen was empty and the gate was open. We checked the barn to make sure she wasn't bloating on alfalfa then went to look around. We found her out by Ruby and Jewel, our other two cows. Cows are a herding animal so maybe Molly just needed to see her friends. (I think the gate blew open in a storm last night). We would have Molly with them but its to far out in the pasture to walk her from there to the barn and back twice a day. As you know, a milk cow is the queen of the farm and doesn't like to walk long distances.
