Shearing day! Every year around this time our sheep get an extreme change in appearance. It is so much fun to see their fluffy white...mostly white...wool come from them, to us!
The night before we left dad gave them a pedicure. Dad made a chute to direct the sheep to the trailer where he trimmed their hooves. When you put the sheep in a sitting position they won't fight as much.
We took the sheep to the Jacobson's were the shearer was already working on their sheep. Mrs.Jacobson saves a lot of wool for the Woolly Girls felting. Mrs.Shill, also one of the woolly girls, wasn't there. The shearer went to there house next. The wool that was to be sold was packed into the wool packer. Everybody wanted to run the packer!
After shearing it was obvious that our 7 older sheep are all going to lamb at the end of the month!
While we were there we noticed a bumper sticker. Eat more lamb..50,000 coyotes can't be wrong.

This little lamb gets to keep her wool. Livie loves her mommy and her lamb. :)
