Can't have dirt without the cutie!
Practice makes progress
Building the green house!
Our most recent activity has been getting our garden started. (Inside of course) Everyone helped out.
The tool Alice is using is a soil blocker. It does exactly what it sounds like it does. Before using the blocker the little girls got to do what they love best. Mix water in to the dirt so that it would block properly. After packing the blocker as tight as possible you pull up the handle on the top which raises the sides and lets the blocks out. Tada! Simple as that! After we did a little math we found we had done around 500 blocks.
After all those blocks were finished it was time to plant the seeds. Mom and I planted perennials in a few of the trays just to give them a head start this summer. Dad and Alice did veggies. Tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, beans and more.
The boys were getting a little jumpy around this time so dad put them to work too. By building a green house for downstairs. It was a small one and was mostly just shelves but believe me it worked great!
It was a big project and it took a lot of hard work. Did we have fun? What kind of a question is that! We love being together and like one of our many motto says "Many hands makes light work." :D
