Ok, where should I start.  People have been encouraging us to get a llama as they are wonderful guardians of sheep. Our research showed that they bond within 2 hours. Not true. The day after we got her she got loose. Running to a cow pasture she stayed there for the next week. Until yesterday. There was a report of a llama running down the road heading south the opposite direction from our house. So we jumped in our van with a tranquilizer gun. Mom driving, dads head out the window llama hunting. She is fast!  She ran into a farmers field and of course we couldn't drive in there. Then a rancher came by offering his 4 -wheeler and advice, then off he drove. Dad took aim and was able to shoot her in the ribs, but she was still running. So he caught up with her on the 4-wheeler. Just as he as ready to walk her home she decided to "sleep".  Then this is where things get weird, if you didn't think chasing a llama was weird enough. Alice and I decided to stay with dad until she got up. It was pretty fun. Because I'm pretty sure dad was over tired and he started being silly. That's when the picture took place. Finally Margret, the llama, got up. Dad and Alice walked the llama while I drove the 4 - wheeler back to the road. Once dad and Alice caught up. I started to drive the 4 -wheeler to the gate we were supposed to bring it to. All of the sudden dad is yelling for me to get off. Seconds later the 4 -wheeler is engulfed in flames. Now we must call 911 because we are in the middle of nowhere. It's starting to get dark and we are miles away from home. Our new friends, the Stegmans also came to save the day. Changing a flat, hooking up our trailer and helpings us get everyone home safe and sound. Only in N.D. will you see a man walking a llama down a dirt road in the middle of the night.
